“Gondola,” by Melting Hopefuls, the first track ever released by Dromedary Records as the lead track on the out of print compilation “Nothing Smells Quite Like Elizabeth.” Dromedary would go on to release two 7” singles by the band, including the critically-acclaimed “Pulling An Allnighter On Myself” in 1993.
We’re thrilled to release a remixed and remastered version of the track, and make it available for free download to anyone who wants it! Happy Anniversary Dromedary!
Melting Hopefuls moved on to bigger and better things, with drummer/producer Ray Ketchem and singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Renee LoBue eventually forming the band Elk City. Elk City released four albums and a number of singles and compilation tracks before signing to Bar/None Records in 2017. Their Bar/None debut is due in early 2018. Visit Facebook.com/elkcityband for more info on the band.
This recording was remixed and remastered by Ray Ketchem in celebration of Dromedary’s 25th anniversary and his longstanding creative partnership with Renee LoBue. In addition to being one of the creative forces behind Elk City, Ray is the owner of Magic Door Recording in Montclair, NJ.
