Preorder Stuyvesant Now!

The Stuyvesant “Aardvark” single is available for preorder *now*, with a release date of November 8, 2019.

The single is available in all digital formats, as well as a limited-edition lathe-cut 7″. Limited to 40 copies, the artwork was designed by former Stuyvesant bass player Brian Musikoff, with the artwork intended to be the first in a series of 7″ releases with the band, each resembling the old “Safari cards” of the 1970s. The record was recorded at Moonlight Mile studios in Hoboken, NJ, with longtime Stuyvesant engineer Mike Moebius at the knobs.

Coming Soon – STUYVESANT!

We’re beyond stoked to announce the next 7″ in our lathe-cut project will be a brand-new single from our flagship band, the mighty STUYVESANT. It’ll be their first new music since the release of their “Don’t” single two years ago! Stay tuned for more info – preorders will be available October 25!

Jersey Beat Premieres Sink Tapes!

Thanks to Jim Testa of the long-running Jersey Beat zine for premiering the “Drac / Witch” 7″ from Sink Tapes. Jim says the single floats “somewhere between eighties jangle pop and nineties slacker-rock, recalling the poppier side of Yo La Tengo. Gabe Chiarello’s deadpan vocals and subtle but insistent melodies shine. Be sure to download the digital bonus track “That’s Not Me,” delightfully dreamy indie with a motorik beat.”

Coming Soon – Sink Tapes!

We’re thrilled to announce the next installment in our limited-edition lathe-cut 7″ series: a double A-side picture disc single by *Sink Tapes*. We first heard Sink Tapes in 2015 when we picked up their outstanding “Maybe Gray” album and we’ve been fans ever since, working with the band on a 2017 fundraising show for our “Signal to Noise” radio program and releasing a track on a fundraising compilation later that year. Living on as the project of indie pop craftsman Gabe Chiarello, the band recently released _Enough to Flood the Cow_ via Mint 400 and Sniffling Indie Kids Records. It’s a work of art.

“Drac / Witch” is a three-song digital single accompanied by a super-limited lathe-cut 7″ picture disc containing two of the three tracks. With a street date of July 26, 2019, we’ll make preorders available in mid-July – but stay on your toes, we’ll be limiting this to just 40 records. Our lathe-cuts have been selling out _quick_, and when they’re gone, they’re gone!

Out Now: “Personality Crisis” by The 65’s

Our disgust with the current healthcare system in America knows no bounds. Even more so when we learned the sad news that New York Dolls guitarist Sylvain Sylvain is suffering from cancer, and is seeking help from friends and fans via GoFundMe.

In a nation as wealthy as the United States, we shouldn’t have to rely on GoFundMe as a way to help with medical expenses.

But we do, and our mutual disillusionment – and appreciation for the legends that created the music we love – caused us to team up with our friends at Pyrrhic Victory Recordings to release a dynamite cover of the Dolls’ “Personality Crisis,” with every penny raised from sales donated directly to Sylvain’s GoFundMe.

*The 65’s* banged this cover out in a day, based on a ten-minute email discussion I had with Joe Pugsley of PVR/The 65’s, and the result is every bit as raw and sleazy as a “Personality Crisis” cover should be. The members of 65’s have been making records for the better part of two decades, and have been in some of the area’s best punk bands – they were the perfect band to record this track.

It’s available for download via our “webstore”:https://dromedaryrecords.bandcamp.com/album/personality-crisis and also via the PVR webstore. Three bucks minimum for the track, but please consider where the proceeds are going when you click the “pay” button. We’re also making a SUPER limited run of lathe-cut 7″s – 10 copies total, split between Dromedary and Pyrrhic Victory – and once they’re gone, they’re gone.

This record was created out of anger and love and respect, and we’re proud to help the band get it out there in support of a punk legend.
