Out Now: “Personality Crisis” by The 65’s

Our disgust with the current healthcare system in America knows no bounds. Even more so when we learned the sad news that New York Dolls guitarist Sylvain Sylvain is suffering from cancer, and is seeking help from friends and fans via GoFundMe.

In a nation as wealthy as the United States, we shouldn’t have to rely on GoFundMe as a way to help with medical expenses.

But we do, and our mutual disillusionment – and appreciation for the legends that created the music we love – caused us to team up with our friends at Pyrrhic Victory Recordings to release a dynamite cover of the Dolls’ “Personality Crisis,” with every penny raised from sales donated directly to Sylvain’s GoFundMe.

*The 65’s* banged this cover out in a day, based on a ten-minute email discussion I had with Joe Pugsley of PVR/The 65’s, and the result is every bit as raw and sleazy as a “Personality Crisis” cover should be. The members of 65’s have been making records for the better part of two decades, and have been in some of the area’s best punk bands – they were the perfect band to record this track.

It’s available for download via our “webstore”:https://dromedaryrecords.bandcamp.com/album/personality-crisis and also via the PVR webstore. Three bucks minimum for the track, but please consider where the proceeds are going when you click the “pay” button. We’re also making a SUPER limited run of lathe-cut 7″s – 10 copies total, split between Dromedary and Pyrrhic Victory – and once they’re gone, they’re gone.

This record was created out of anger and love and respect, and we’re proud to help the band get it out there in support of a punk legend.

New Gotobeds Track Featuring Tracy Wilson

Tracy Wilson of “Positive No”:http://dromedary-records.com/artists/positive-no provides guest vocals on this excellent new track from Pittsburgh’s The Gotobeds. We’ve been fans of this band since their excellent “New York’s Alright” single a few years back, and were jazzed to learn that Tracy would be contributing vocals to their new single, “Twin Cities.”

Check out the video, and get ready for the Positive No single, out next month.

Coming Soon – Positive No!

We’re thrilled to announce the next installment in our lathe-cut project: a brand-new single from Richmond, VA’s awesome “Positive No”:https://www.facebook.com/PositiveNo!

We first heard Positive No when a mutual friend pointed out their music a few years ago. Then, the band drove all the way up from Richmond, Va to perform at a benefit for our radio program on WFDU! Since then, we’ve been huge fans!

On May 24 we’ll be releasing a brand-new single from the band. It’ll be available on all digital formats, and we’ll also be releasing it as a super-limited lathe-cut picture disc!

Until then, whet your appetite with the band’s most recent single (which will also be available as the B-side of our lathe-cut), “Thanksgiving”
