Coming Soon: Cinema Cinema 7″

Dromedary is thrilled to announce the forthcoming release of “50 Ft. Queenie” b/w “Adult Themes,” a new vinyl 7″ from Brooklyn avant-punk duo *Cinema Cinema*. Due out June 11, the single will be the lead track from the Dromedary 20th anniversary compilation _From ’93 ‘Til Infinity: A Dromedary Records Compilation_.

The band were initially approached by Dromedary in the spring of 2012 about performing at the label’s annual “Camelfest” show to benefit the Roots & Wings of NJ organization. After performing the show at Maxwell’s in Hoboken, the band and label struck up a friendship, and we asked them to contribute a track to our anniversary compilation, a celebration of indie rock from 1993. After considering Fugazi’s “Facet Squared” and Nirvana’s “Heart-Shaped Box,” the band selected the PJ Harvey classic “50 Ft. Queenie.”

The single will be released on June 11, to coincide with the band’s appearance at Brooklyn’s Northside Festival, as openers for Black Flag. The single will be available both digitally and on 7″, with the first 100 copies pressed on limited-edition white vinyl.

The compilation will be available this summer on Dromedary, and features covers of classic indie rock songs by Archers of Loaf, Vic Chesnutt, PJ Harvey, Jesus and Mary Chain, The Mommyheads, Liz Phair, The Posies, Seam, Smog, Souls of Mischief, Spinanes, Superchunk, Swervedriver, Teenage Fanclub, Versus, and Yo La Tengo. Other artists appearing on the compilation will be announced in the coming weeks.
